The first week of October usually marks near‑peak color in the northern Poconos and strong, building color in the central Lehigh Gorge region. DCNR’s historical reports and PMVB’s foliage map both show this window as a prime time for leaf‑peeping in Northeast PA.

• Northern Poconos: 60–75% color, approaching peak
• Central Poconos / Lehigh Gorge: 40–60% color
• Southern Poconos / Jim Thorpe: 25–40% color
